    To adopt Resolution No. 2025-01 recommending that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista adopt an ordinance amending Chula Vista Municipal Code (“CVMC”) Sections 19.58.022 (Accessory Dwelling Units) and 19.58.023 (Junior Accessory Dwelling Units). The motion was carried by the following vote:

    Item 6.1 heading:

    RESOLUTION NO. 2025-01 OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA PLANNING COMMISSION REPEALING CHULA VISTA MUNICIPAL CODE SECTIONS 19.58.022 (ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS) AND 19.58.023 (JUNIOR ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS)


Notice of the hearing was given in accordance with legal requirements, and the hearing was held on the date and no earlier than the time specified in the notice.

Senior Planner Mallec gave a presentation on the item and applicants Christopher Naumann and Michael Richard with South Bay Pioneers, assisted in answering questions on the item.

The motion was carried by the following vote:

    RESOLUTION NO. 2025-02 OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVING CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT CUP23-0019 AND DESIGN REVIEW PERMIT DR23-0015 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND ESTABLISHMENT OF A WOMEN’S ALCOHOL REHABILITATION/ RECOVERY FACILITY, LOCATED WITHIN A SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL (R-1) ZONE OF THE CHULA VISTA MUNICIPAL CODE

Associate Planner Luna gave a presentation on the item and applicant Steve Rowland assisted in answering questions on the item.

    To approve a CEQA Categorical Exemption under CEQA Guidelines section 15301 and adopt Resolution No.2025-03 approving Conditional Use Permit CUP24-0022 to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages, including tasting and education, for offsite consumption and onsite tastings in an existing retail building based on the findings and subject to the conditions contained in the resolution. The motion was carried by the following vote:

    Item 6.3 heading:

    RESOLUTION NO. 2025-03 OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA APPROVING A CATEGORICAL EXEMPTION UNDER THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT, AND APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT CUP24-0022 TO ALLOW THE SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, INCLUDING TASTING AND EDUCATION, WITHIN AN EXISTING 20,173-SQUARE FOOT RETAIL BUILDING LOCATED WITHIN THE VILLAGE CENTER (VC-3) OF THE EASTLAKE II SECTIONAL PLANNING AREA
