Council discussion ensued.
At the request of Mayor McCann, there was a consensus of the City Council to have staff return to the City Council within 60 days to discuss the following Municipal Code provisions:
- Establish a licensing process for outreach contractors and voucher use
- Adopt targeted restrictions on sitting/lying/sleeping on public property
- Adopt targeted regulations for storing items on public property
- Amend the Recreational Vehicle Permit Program to incorporate a vehicle dwelling system
Deputy Mayor Preciado expressed concern about public encounters that endanger the safety of City staff and expressed interest in training and policies addressing this.
